The Bartoncard contains not only music, but an ebook, videos and more...

It's a wonder of the modern age, this Barton Hartshorn personalised credit card contains not one, but two folders. In the first you will find "Headquarter café Vol1" in three easy to swallow formats: mobi for Kindle, epub for mostly everything else & even a pdf for casual everyday use.

The second folder will reveal my 1st album "Headquarter Café" in CD quality for the discerning listener & also in MP3 format for those who can't hear the difference. Well, why take up the extra space if that's the case I say?

The third folder is stuffed with goodies: videos, lyrics, alternative sleeves etc

I advise you to keep this card with you at all times; take it to the shops, flaunt it at the opera, flash it at policemen to get off speeding fines, tuck it casually into your bikini at the beach, it will I assure you never cease to impress and amaze your friends and enemies in equal amounts.

about

I'd bought a baritone ukulele from Wales and this song just fell out of it. Horrible sounding instrument. Doesn't feature anywhere else on the album for a good reason. Must get a good quality one someday...
Great banjo part for Julian Guy - reminds me of the Hitchhikers guide theme - & superb restrained organ playing from Mathias Schubert.

lyrics

Calling your attention to the ending of the sea
Down where all the gaping dragons be
daily I'll be waiting at the far end of the beach
If you're scared of my attention don't be

Leave your careless brooding & your sentimental heart
your lover & the keys to your car
In your coral necklace & your birthday finery
You'll have my attention you'll be...

Calling from the masthead, a golden figurine
Tempting all the sailors from the social submarines

We are gold colombines with a voice for our times
We are two weeks away from the find of the age

We'll beat up all the skeletons like jason and his crew
We'll listen to the sea & know the truth
Your politicians taught me that a man is never free
They set this bomb ticking in me

We'll run it all like clockwork, we'll do it right as rain
We'll be the irrigation to the outward lying plains

We are gold colombines with a voice for our times
We are two weeks away from the find of the age

If the crowning of my vision is a longing to be free
I'll turn out to be lousy company
& should I found my kingdom on camaraderie
A mob will drive me back into the sea

Take greyhounds to my funeral & stand right at the back
Applaud them as they throw in lime & tie me in a sack

We are gold colombines with a voice for our times
We are two weeks away from the find of the age
